About Inner Farne
The Farne Islands are owned and managed by the National Trust. To visit Inner Farne you will need to book a boat trip from Seahouses harbour in advance. For non-members there is also a landing fee. Inner Farne is an outstanding location to see puffins and Arctic terns in summer, as well as other cliff-dwelling birds.
The Farne Islands have NNR and SSSI status.

The terns, protecting their nesting territories, fly over the heads of visitors to the island. These amazing birds make the return journey between the Arctic and Antarctic every year.

Many of the puffins landing on Inner Farne had several sand eels in their catch. They often seemed to rest for a while before heading to their burrows.
