About RSPB Lakenheath Fen
RSPB Lakenheath Fen is located under the flight path of the nearby American air base. It has a wide variety of wildlife including kingfishers (best seen in autumn) and bitterns. In winter mornings the photography station is excellent for photographing songbirds and the usually elusive water rail. It has a visitor centre selling limited refreshments, car parking and toilets. There is an entry fee for non-members.
The reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Protection Area (SPA),
